The purpose of the prize is to incentivize students to actively participate in the activities during the workshop so they get the most out of it. An example of a prize that was used previously was a $25 PC gift card. However, we recommend choosing a prize that you believe will appeal to your student body.
We understand that not all students may be excited about the prospect of the workshop before it begins, but we hope that the mention of prizes will garner some buy-in from these students who are skeptical, and will encourage them to be more engaged throughout the workshop. At the beginning of the workshop, students are provided with a handbook. This handbook contains the activities, as well as three questions that students must answer in order to be eligible to win a prize.
The questions that students will need to answer are: Q: How do you decide to try something new or make a change? A: Peer pressure, norms, availability
Q:What are the long term effects of vaping? A: Long-term effects are undetermined, but leads to cancer, heart problems, vaping dehydration
Q: What chemicals are in the vape juice? A: Nicotine, propylene glycol, tin, aluminum, copper, nickel
There will be spaces next to each activity in the students’ handbooks where student facilitators can check off that the students completed the activities. In order to be entered for the prize, students will need to have each of the activities checked off!
